Housing Prices in NE Oklahoma

News story in June 24, 2009 on home prices was interesting today. Listed in the top 13 housing markets for performance and price appreciation are No. 6 Wichita, KS, No 9 OK City, OK, and No. 11Tulsa, OK. The report did not take in smaller markets such as Grand Lake and the Grove, OK area. However buyers of lake property come from all over but the top 4 areas are Tulsa, OK City, Wichita, and Kansas City. All these markets but Kansas City are in the top performers nation wide. The prediction is based upon, according to the article, a number of factors including home price behavior over last year, income and employment in the areas. The midwest has fared much better than the rest of the nation in the current recession.

If you have thought of buying a home on the lake or golf course for a primary home, second home, investment home, or rental property, now might just be a good time to do so. Interest rates are low, property selection is good, the market is steady but not robust so you might find a deal, and first time buyers can get credits on your taxes. This could be a real time to think Grand Lake and Grove, Ok. Give some thought to it if you have always dreamed of a home at the lake.
