Grove, OK and Grand Lake New Developments


A large new development project for Grove, OK on the shores of beautiful Grand Lake was just announced. Integris Health has sold the now closed former hospital on main street in Grove to Wheeler Development. The new retail center will be called Har-Ber Pointe. The development company has also purchased additional adjoining land. The anchor of the new center will be a major grocery store, which company remains to be announced but the rumor mill has a new Harps or Reasors going into this spot. There will be other free standing buildings for food service, retail, and perhaps a bank. This is a huge new development for Grove, OK and will drastically change the main street. The additional new space will bring new shopping opportunities and increased sales tax dollars to Grove.

Wheeler Development is owned by Wheeler Interests Inc. based in Virginia Beach, VA. The Wheeler family involves two brothers as principals who grew up in the Tulsa, OK area. They established a NE OK office just a few years ago and have done several retail development projects in the Tulsa area. In Grove, the company owns Liberty Storage and has another large storage facility in Disney, OK. A press release says the company has developed, managed and leased over 3 million square feet of commercial space from New York to Florida to Texas and Oklahoma.

Integris Health moved into their new 58 million dollar hospital just a few blocks east of the old facility in late January, 2010. Grove is truly on the move now with the new hospital, a new doctors private practice building, new denist office, an eye doctor’s office, and a new home furnishings/pharmacy building being worked on now. The new retail center will be about a year from start of construction with time needed for plans and tearing down the old structures.

Just today I saw a closing on the Grand Lake MLS for $925,000 for 3 acres with 1000′ shoreline that sits next to a high dollar neighbor in Grove, OK. If you have been thinking about getting ahead of the curve and want to plan a development on Grand Lake, now might be the time to buy the raw land and start planning. As the country comes out of recession, there will be demand for waterfront homes.

We own and offer a nice location for a condo building with 3 acres and 900 feet of shoreline with city water, gas, and electric at property and city sewer on .2 mile away with approval to hook onto it.
