Fall and Real Estate on Grand Lake
Friday, November 2nd, 2012Fall is the often forgotten season on Grand Lake but should not be overlooked. The past few weeks in October, 2012 have been great. Today, is November 2 and I have before 9 am seen two guys in shorts just like summer had returned. High today is to be in the low 80’s. The lake is a delight with fewer boats out, fall colors, and good temperatures.
We have also had increased traffic and interest in Grand Lake area homes. Our Grand Lake Team has shown property 3-4 days a week the entire month of October. People looking all seem to have realized that interest rates are at historic lows, home prices are lower and they feel they will be higher by next spring, and many feel the available number of quality homes in the Grand Lake area will be a much lower number soon. The percent who look and actually buy is also up compared to the last couple of years.
Maybe now is the time you should think about your dream retirement waterfront home or that weekend home on Grand Lake. I don’t know what the future holds but the trends described above are real and I do know that historically fall is the time to get a bargain on Grand Lake. Seller’s do not want to carry their property over until Spring and will often discount to get sold now. By January, most seller’s are saying it is only a couple of months till Spring and they firm up on pricing.
