Today, Sept 12, 2009, while out showing homes on Patricia Island Estates in Grove and on beautiful Grand Lake I noticed the Pelicans flying overhead in their perfect formation. The gentleman with me remarked how neat it was to see the Pelicans back. It reminded me that the Grand Lake Pelican Festival put on by the Grand Lake Association is coming soon. It will be September 25-27, 2009. It all begins on Friday at 3 pm with an arts and crafts show, business expo, and carnival. Activites will be at the Grove Civic Center on Main Street and at the Grove Community Center on 3rd street.

Families can enjoy a Pelican Dinner Tour on the famed Cherokee Queen each day. To make reservations for this tour call 918 786-4272. On Saturday there will be a parade complete with bands and business floats. The parade starts at 10:30 am. There will also be several different music acts performing thoughout the weekend. Hours for the festival are Friday 3-8 pm. Saturday 9-8 and Sunday 10-4.
