Grand Lake in Oklahoma Spring Conditions

The weather has been cool and very wet. The lake level is high. Does not sound like fun but things are changing. The lake level is slowing going down towards normal. The banks and rivers above the lake have been washed out several times in the past year so the amount of trash and logs coming down is a whole lot less than last summer’s flood.

This past weekend, April 19 & 20, 2008 the weather was just great! Eighty degrees and sunny and just a nice breeze. It doesn’t get any better. The dogwoods and redbuds are in full bloom and light up the area with their full color. It truly is a pretty time of the year. Time to get ready to enjoy Grand Lake for the summer soon to be. Make your plans now.

The real estate market has picked up with the better weather. Several deals made past few weeks and more inquirey. The national real estate blues have not affected Grand Lake except in sympathy spirit. If the news media would quit telling all the bad about real estate it would be good here. I don’t blame people for getting worried about the real estate market when they read the horror stories of California, Nevada, Florida and a few other states. Oklahoma real estate is up the past few years but not to the extreme that the dead areas mentioned in above states were and since we didnot go up hand over hand in one year we don’t have to correct. Our prices are good and steady. You can find a deal from time to time like it is most of the time in a second home market.
