Grand Lake LivingThursday, October 30th, 2008
You can make a trip to Grand Lake and want to never leave and many do just that. The lifestyle of Grand Lake offers something for everyone from summer boating or sailing, riding a sea-doo, bass fishing, or simply laying in a hammock with a good book to read. You will enjoy shopping the quaint shops of Grove to the Dam around the lake. Lunch at one of our many unique diners such as Backporch Cafe at Har-ber Village is always a treat. Speaking of Har-ber Village, it is a great place to visit and enjoy seeing how the pioneers lived. Next stop can be Lendonwood Gardens with all it’s splender of the many gardens to wander about in and enjoy.
Whether you rv at Pine Island Resort or the Bear’s Den or one of our other fine RV Resorts, rent a condo on Monkey Island, do a golf weekend with Patricia Island Estates, buy a weekend home, or settle here for retirement you will find enjoyment for all life styles and stages of life.
Another misnomer is that Grand Lake is for summer fun only, I found that most given the opportunity find the lake to be a true four seasons retreat or retirement heaven. Nothing beats a winter fire in the fireplace, a good book, or movie and looking out at the still waters of the lake. Fall gives a wonderful showcase of God’s paint brush in nature as the tree leaves change to vivid colors. Of course the Spring brings blooming dogwoods and redbuds and all our dreams of Summer fun once again. It truly is a four season paradise.
Those who move here full time find a friendly mix of people from many many states east to west and north to south that accept new comers with wide open arms. You soon will be as involved or as little involved as you want with your Church, Civic Club, or other Association. Check out the Grand Lake area, you will be pleased with what you find–small town or country living with great shopping, excellent health care, wonderful neighbors, low or no crime rates, and a playground for all seasons.
