The Grand Lake real estate market was pretty slow in May, 2012 after a great early spring sales season well ahead of both 2011 and 2010. Now in June things have come back to life again. Last weekend our Grand Lake Team of Aaron Hughes and Joe Neill got 3 properties under contract. First was a listed $700,000 waterfront home contracted for cash, next was a waterfront lot in Mantle Hills Gated Community in Grove for cash, and then a finance contract came in on a $159,000 waterfront home. Others in our RE/MAX Grand Lake office also had contracts coming in. The internet activity has picked up nicely also.

We also are seeing more building activity on Grand Lake after about 3 years of only a handfull of newly built homes. Recently I toured the Grove area by land and also by boat. I counted 6 new homes of various stages of construction going up in the gated community, The Preserve just outside of Grove. There were 5 more scattered around various Grove neighborhoods and 1 new home going up on Monkey Island. Most of these homes are being built on previously purchased lots that owners had waited sometime before starting construction. It is great to see such activity.
