Tomorrow is Thanksgiving 2008. Those of us who live and work or are retired at Grand Lake, I feel sure, are very thankful that we have such a wonderful community to live in and enjoy. The holiday lights are up downtown and put you in such a festive mood. The quaint shops are ready for shoppers and add a special holiday cheer unlike a mall experience.

We are enjoying dining at the new Light House Grill at the Honey Creek Landing. Soon a new Hoover’s Roundup Cafe will open and downtown a new Mexican restruarant/cantina will soon open.

We are thankful that Oklahoma’s economy while not stellar has escaped much of the national economic problems. Real estate is moving at a slower pace but prices are steady and people are still buying. That being said, this is the time of year you can get a bargain on lake country homes or waterfront lots. You might also just get an end of year special on a new golf course home at Patricia Island Estates. The Perserve has some lot specials, both waterfront and lakeview. The Villas Del Lago on South Grand Lake has some good values on homes or lots also. Another great spot on South Grand Lake is The Coves, a gated community with golf course and many nice ammenties. Whichever part of Grand Lake is your favorite offers some nice investment opportunities in a great investment you can enjoy such as that waterfront home or golf course home.
