Monkey Island on Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma has many home developments in gated communities with caretakers to keep grounds and security. This has been the number one home site on the island for years with more nice gated communities with homes in many price ranges. I have found that many times the strength of a selling season is found in what is going on in luxury home sales.

Some home buyers for the island have been waiting to see what happens in regard to the new Peninsula project I have wrote about recently. I think the Peninsula Hotel and Hi-rise Condo project will be built and will make lake home values in the area go higher just from more people visiting the area and finding out the jewel we have on Monkey Island and Grand Lake.

Recently a new 1.29 million dollar home next to Peninsula site sold. Another $900,000+ home in the Chateaus went under contract last week. This home is within a mile of the Peninsula project. Most luxury home buyers are pretty astute and don’t make bad judgement calls on their investments. I don’t think they have here either. They think their new investment will be both a great investment and a wonderful place for a full time or second home.

This might just be the best time for you to look at property on Monkey Island. The value is here now, I think prices will go higher in next few years. We have nice homes starting with wooded lot views at $95,000 and waterfront homes starting just under $300,000. Condos start at $70,000 and go up. I am sure we can find a home or condo you would love to own in one of the many nice communities on Monkey Island, a great spot to be on Grand lake.
