Maybe a Home at Grand Lake in NE OK for Christmas

Much of the country has suffered the past week from ice and snow. Not a great time to be house hunting. Coupled with all the doom and gloom in the news from destressed areas of the country that had sky high prices that have now come down it would make one want to hide and never think of buying a house.

This type of market is just the time to buy in areas that have not seen prices that were not sustainable. Grand Lake and Grove, Oklahoma is one area that has had modest price increases over the past five years and has steady to slightly higher prices in 2007 with steady to slightly more sales than 2006. However, given the national real estate market and the weather of the past week even Grove and the Grand Lake area will have bargains to be had during the holidays and the first couple of weeks of January.

Sellers are anxious and want to sell now. After mid to late January lake property will firm up seasonally as demand will perk with people thinking spring and ready for lake activities. You will not come to Grove and Grand Lake and get 20-30% off a home price but you might get 6-15% in a market that usually sees no more than 5% off asking price.

A lakefront home, lakeview home, golf course home, or a wooded cabin would make an excellent family Christmas gift. A gift that can make memories that last and go on for a life time. Lake real estate is also a good investment over the years. Not often do you find a family memory making experience that is also a great investment.

The sun is shining this week and realtors are working. Think about that Christmas home at Grand Lake.
