Monkey Island of Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma is known for vacation and full time living homes. It is about 15 miles from Grove, OK. Monkey Island is known for upscale condos and luxury homes on great water, near fine dining and a private plane airport, with boat sales and gift shops close by. Recently it was announced that the old Shangri La Lodge and Country Club/Golf Course has changed its name to The Peninsula Resort and has plans for a 70+ unit condo tower and 150 room hotel. Since this announcement real estate activity has boomed on the entire island.

I know of at least seven homes either closing or going under contract in past week. These homes range in list price of $135,000 to $850,000. Most were in the $300-350,000 price range. This is not Manhatten Island folks, just quiet little Monkey Island on Grand Lake. This is a great market with homes selling.

There are still homes on the market you would like and love to own. Prices are very reasonable compared to most areas of the country and we are not in the slump or down markets unlike other areas that were red hot. Our market has seen nice price appreciation past five years, but not out of control pricing that could not be held like some areas of Florida or other parts of US have experienced.
