Shangri La Estates, a gated subdivision on Grand Lake

The Shangri La Estates is a gated subdivision on Monkey Island at Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma. The Estates were developed in the 1970’s by the late Charles Davis, as he transformed the old Shangri La, today known as The Peninsula, a country club with two 18 hole golf courses. The 126 or so homes in the Estates wind along the lake bluff facing to the east for truly wonderful sunrises and moonlite nights. There are huge oak trees mixed with Dogwood and other flowering trees to make a great setting to own a lake home.

The homes may have been built in the 70’s but they are of timeless design with rock and timber construction. Most owners have kept the interior of their homes updated to today’s standards with the association seeing to exterior painting and upkeep of grounds.

The Estates has homes from $150,000 and up with most selling from $200,000-400,000. They offer excellent value for the full timer, second home or lake home person. You cannot beat the drive to the area with the manicured golf courses on each side of the highway as you enter. The planned new hotel and condo project at The Peninsula should only enhance the value of this area. We would love to show you one of the homes offered for sale.
